OpportunityTexas is undertaking several initiatives in partnership with the business community, the K-12 system, higher education, nonprofits, the public sector, financial institutions, and employers to expand asset building products and services for low- and moderate-income Texans. Specifically, OpportunityTexas is:

• Making grants to Texas-based entities through the OpportunityTexas Innovation & Investment Fund to expand financial education, increase household income, and create new Texas savers.
• Establishing measures for financial stability & economic mobility through the Texas Regional Opportunity Index (TROI).
• Supporting the development of a "Smarter Texas" program that integrates personal financial education into the K-12 curriculum and highlights the importance of saving for college.
